Rush Thunder TOPSoccer 2017

Rush Thunder (TOPSoccer)

Rush Thunder TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a part of US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer.
Programs run in the months of January, May, and September.

TOPSoccer is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family.

The program is run and overseen by Robert DeVassie, Alaska TOPSoccer Chair; and consists of fun games and activities each day with about 20 minutes of match play at the end. Players typically range in ages from 4 to young adult, both male and female.2017 Spring

Our objective is to have the best TOPSoccer program in the Nation by providing players with special needs of all ages the opportunity to play and enjoy the game of soccer.

Each session is geared towards fun and development rather than competition. Athletes are placed on teams according to ability and NOT BY AGE.

What should a parent expect from the program?

  • The program will be a fun and meaningful experience for the parent and their child.
  • The program will be adapted in ways that will ensure their child learns at his/her ability.
  • The program will be safe and organized.
  • The program will improve the overall fitness, self-esteem and social skills of their child.

"Where passion is always on display and victory is shared by all!"

Volunteers are paramount for this program to be successful. Without the help of the community within the club the Thunder Program would be unable to survive. For more information or to become a volunteer, please contact Robert DeVassie at 907-727-2189.
